Chikitsa means therapy in Sanskrit and the name honours my intention to share the benefits of Yoga for healing the mind and body. My initial Yoga training was in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga which is a dynamic Yoga style linking movement with the breath.
Chikitsa Yoga Swansea incorporates the benefits of Ashtanga into a flowing Yoga class using the deep core to make a physical Yoga practice accessible for EVERYbody.
Starting with the breath, our deepest core, classes progress to include a flowing warm up, dynamic standing poses, seated poses and conclude with a well earned relaxation.
Core Stength Vinyasa is a perspective on Yoga which allows each pose to be built softly and gracefully from the ground up activating the deep core in each pose. The inner body gets stronger, the outer body more flexible as tension releases.
This change of focus can allow for deeper changes; rehabilitation, self-confidence, stamina, health, stress-relief, self-awareness,movement meditation.
The benefits are endless. Classes are suitable for all levels. Despite the majority of media images suggesting that Yoga is for skinny flexible people, I believe strongly that Yoga is for EVERYbody type. Come and try Yoga in a nurturing, supportive, inclusive environment. Beginners are welcomed with open arms. Modifications offered to incorporate all abilities.
